Privacy Policy

How Forever Legacy handles account data, family-memory content, sharing controls, subscriptions, and deletion.

Information we collect

Forever Legacy collects the information needed to create and manage your account, including your name, email address, password authentication state, profile details, search visibility choices, notification preferences, support requests, and subscription status.

When you use the app, you may add family trees, member profiles, relationships, invitations, capsules, comments, RSVP details, milestone dates, reminders, favorites, and other family-memory records.

Family content and media

Capsules and member records can include text, photos, videos, audio recordings, drawings, captions, notes, and related metadata that you choose to upload. This content may include information about you, relatives, friends, children, events, locations, and family history.

You are responsible for choosing what to upload and for making sure you have permission to share it with the people you invite.

How we use information

We use your information to operate Forever Legacy, authenticate accounts, save and display family trees, deliver capsules, support collaboration and invitations, provide search and discovery features you enable, send verification codes, password reset messages, reminders, notification emails, and support responses, and administer subscriptions.

Sharing and privacy controls

Forever Legacy gives you controls for search visibility, visible profile fields, notification preferences, shared tree access, capsule sharing, blocked users, and invitations. Content is shown to you and to the people you choose to collaborate with or share with through the app.

If you make your profile discoverable, other members may see the profile fields you selected, such as your name, location or region, age, and public photo.

Safety reports and blocking

You can block another member from their profile, and manage blocks from Settings > Blocked users. You can report a profile, capsule, or comment from the app by choosing a report reason. Reports are visible to authorized support staff so they can review safety and privacy concerns.

Subscriptions

When premium features are offered, they are purchased through the app store you downloaded Forever Legacy from. Forever Legacy stores subscription and entitlement records needed to unlock premium features, but it does not receive or store your payment card number. The app store manages payment processing, cancellation, and refund requests.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run Forever Legacy: Convex hosts the database, file storage, and servers, and Resend delivers account and notification emails. Apple and Google distribute the app and process any in-app purchases. These providers process data only to provide their services to us and are required to protect it with safeguards at least as strong as those described in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Your choices and deletion

You can update profile details, notification settings, search visibility, and collaboration choices in the app. You can delete your account from Settings > My Profile > Delete account, or request deletion on the hosted Delete account page without the app. In-app deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your account profile and app data from active Forever Legacy records, including owned family trees, member records, capsules, notifications, support tickets, favorites, and collaboration access records.

Security and retention

Forever Legacy uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for account and family-memory data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so choose carefully before uploading sensitive family information or media.

Children and family members

Forever Legacy is intended for family-memory use by people who can create an account under applicable law. Adults may add family member profiles and memories, including information about children, when they have the right to do so.
